Last week saw another great jobs fair hosted by the Sandwell IPS Team, and this time more successful than ever. Over 150 job seekers walked through the doors of the Smethwick Youth and Community Centre on the 9th April, where 22 employers with live, local vacancies joined the team to meet potential candidates.
The Individual Placement and Support (IPS) team provides one to one support in individuals looking to find sustainable, paid employment. Not only do the team support with CVs, applications, interviews, but they also engage with suitable employers, to match the right candidates to the right roles.
As part of this, The Sandwell IPS team hosted their 3rd Jobs Fair, talking to many local employers about the benefits of working with IPS teams.
The team received some fantastic feedback, captured in the video below.
Eve, from Barnardos – who attended to share information about both paid and volunteer vacancies shared: “The staff have been absolutely astounding in the way they helped and supported us, I couldn’t have asked for more. I look forward to working with you again”
Sandwell Council added: “The jobs fair was really well attended, and really well organised, thank you!”
And as for the results – several job seekers have already shared that they have been invited to interview, and we wish all of the candidates all the best in their job searching!
