Employability Day 2022

It’s Employability Day and here in the Employment and Recovery Services at Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, we’re taking this opportunity to celebrate our staff and recognise the incredible impact our teams have every day!

Proud Moments

There’s lots to be proud of, so we’ve picked just a few moments to share how we support people to progress into employment, and change people’s lives.

“We are proud of the high quality support we offer, even throughout the pandemic where we retained support for our service users, working in different ways to ensure they felt supported.” – Wolverhampton IPS Employment Service

“Our Network Meeting brings together clinicians and the community, to offer advice and guidance on what other support individuals can access in our local community.” – Laura, IPS Team Lead

“I am proud of the work of all our team” - Vicky, Employment & Recovery Operational Manager

“Since being set up only 11 months ago, the Thrive Specialist Service has gone from strength to strength. Even as a pilot we have achieved great results, getting clients into paid, sustainable employment and the service has now been extended until 2023” – Andy, Thrive Team Lead

Going Above and Beyond!

A relatively new team, the individuals making up the Thrive Specialist Service have gone above and beyond to pull together and make the service a success. All the team worked hard to get the results for their clients, even when faced with challenges. It goes to show that the finding the right person for the job was instrumental in making this a ‘Thriving’ Success! – Thrive Specialist WM Service

Jenny, a Qualified CPN who joined the team, raised awareness though suicide prevention training to our wider team and offered training to DWP coaches on Schizophrenia awareness. She has also supported through redeployment and is specialising in Complex Emotional Needs referrals, attending specialist training to support clients. Jenny is also a menopause Champion for the Trust – Jenny, IPS Vocational Specialist

Helping People, Every Day

“I assisted a service user by contacting an employment agency where we found a job as a warehouse operative. This started off as a Christmas temp, but due to their hard work and effort the company asked them to stay, they have now been made a permanent employee!

They have been recognised as a number one employee and is now working towards applying for the supervisor position. Since working they have managed to pay off all their outstanding debts and is now saving for their first home.” – Elle, IPS Vocational Specialist

“We deal with over 200 clients, many of whom have not been able to access the right support before. Although some of our clients have more barriers into a paid sustainable role – they can still achieve results! Our service has supported clients into jobs meeting their goals and aspirations, which means that their overall lifestyle can be significantly changed – through work they see health benefits, growth in confidence and motivation.” - Thrive Specialist WM Service
