The Sandwell Jobs Fair, delivered by the IPS Sandwell team, successfully brought together employers, training providers and support organisations to support local people in exploring new employment, training and career development opportunities.
Held at West Bromwich Town Hall, the event welcomed 182 attendees, who had the opportunity to explore job vacancies, training opportunities and career support available across the Black Country from 31 vendors.
The fair provided a valuable platform for job seekers to meet employers face-to-face, gain advice and build connections that could support them into work.
Feedback from exhibitors and attendees highlighted the positive impact of the event. One employer, who regularly attends jobs fairs, described the event as “highly valuable”, praising the strong engagement from attendees, the diverse range of skills on display and the enthusiasm shown by individuals looking to secure employment.
Attendees also welcomed the breadth of support available on the day. One visitor described the fair as a “great source of information on jobs and other related matters”, highlighting the range of advice available on health, mental wellbeing, travel and free local training opportunities.
Chris Boult, Team Lead, said: “It was fantastic to see so many people attend and engage with employers and support services. The event highlighted the positive impact that partnership working can have in helping local people access employment, training and development opportunities.”
The IPS Sandwell team would like to thank all exhibitors, partners and attendees who helped make the event a success and look forward to building on the opportunities and connections created on the day.
